Problems
Modernizing Islamic Movements for Diverse Generations
In the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic, traditional ‘Islamic Movements’ have struggled to resonate with the newer, diverse generations. The decline in organizational adaptability to contextual changes has led to increased chaos and instability, exacerbating polarization in our nation, founded on principles of peace and liberty as advocated by our religion.
Enhancing Contemporary Leadership Among Muslim Leaders
Rather than being perceived as a force for progress and civilization, Islam faces criticism for perceived inaction on crucial humanitarian, unity, environmental, and gender empowerment issues. The imperative for contemporary leaders to serve as spokespersons and thought leaders for the community is vital to dispel these misconceptions.
Bridging Gaps in Identity: Races, Religions and Identities
Conventional Islamic movements predominantly appeal to individuals of similar backgrounds, inadvertently excluding diverse or ‘unorthodox’ Muslims in Malaysia. This exclusionary approach hampers the strategic delivery of messages promoting peace, harmony, and pride in religion. The Good Society Movement seeks to rectify this issue by fostering inclusivity and addressing the diverse identities within the community.
Our Approach
Drawing Inspiration from Established Movements and Parties
As we aspire to lead a contemporary movement for the new generation, we recognize the value of learning from established organizations globally.
Creating Cadres, Ambassadors and Successors out of Campus and School chapters
We prioritize grooming leaders within our campus and school chapters, ensuring a seamless transition of responsibilities. We equip individuals with the skills needed for effective leadership roles and fostering a sense of collective purpose.
Ensuring financial sustainability via grants and businesses
We actively pursue grants and establish business ventures. By leveraging platforms like APPGM, AOD, NDI, we project our members to attract funding, enabling us to not only sustain but also expand our multifaceted initiatives.
Collaborating and engaging with entities for interdependent efforts
We engage with a diverse array of organizations, both locally and internationally, understanding that collective action yields greater impact. We facilitate resource-sharing and knowledge exchange, driving mutual progress and fostering a global community dedicated to our cause.
